UNM College of Pharmacy

The UNM College of Pharmacy is the only pharmacy school in the state of New Mexico and we work to teach, support, and lead the upcoming future pharmacists. New Mexico is one of only four states in which pharmacists with advanced training can practice as mid-level providers in the healthcare system. In addition, all New Mexico pharmacists can prescribe and administer all vaccinations to patients of all ages, prescribe and dispense oral hormonal contraceptives, smoking cessation agents, travel medications and naloxone, and perform tuberculin skin testing.
We offer programs at different levels, including:
-Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) -- Professional degree for students interested in being licensed pharmacists. This degree is heavily involved in STEM with courses in pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, compounding and more! This degree bridges those interested in sciences and healthcare.
-Graduate Program (MS/PhD) -- Pursue advanced studies alongside our faculty at the College of Pharmacy who are discovering, developing, and evaluating new drugs and therapies.
Pharmacy is a core part of STEM and due to this, there are many different career opportunities to pursue in it such as, healthcare, research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical innovation, and more! Discover your future in pharmacy today!
